The BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) examination is one of the most competitive exams in Bangladesh, creating opportunities for civil service jobs under the government. Every year, a large number of aspirants compete for limited spots. To start your journey, you must handle the application process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you apply smoothly.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To proceed with applying, visit the BPSC portal: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the authorized portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Keep away from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Find the latest BCS exam circular under the “Circulars”. The circular shares necessary information, such as requirements for application, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other critical instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Go through the standards, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The regular age limit is 21–30 years for general candidates, but modifications can be granted for specific groups such as freedom fighter descendants or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the online registration form (Form 1). Fill in all essential fields, such as candidate details, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Cross-check for any typos. Providing incorrect information can lead to dismissal.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a recent copyright-sized photograph (with dimensions 300x300, file size below 100KB) and your signature (dimension of 300x80 pixels, file size below 60kB). Check that these are as per the guidelines mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After submitting the online form, you will receive a User ID. Use this ID to pay the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually BDT 700 for general candidates and BDT 100 for others. Follow the specified method provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will be provided with a confirmation SMS with a Transaction ID. Keep this ID for future reference. Access again the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

Finalize your application well before the deadline to bypass last-minute technical issues.

Print a copy of the finalized document for future use, such as for printing the admit card.

By completing these steps, you can register without hassle for the BCS exam and take a step closer your desired position in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Good luck!
